Hi, You do not actually have to use it.   It is for toggling back and forth from normal to Overclocked which would be for gaming.  Then set back for web surfing and office type stuff.  Turn back on if working with Video and Pictures.

There really is not much info provided.  Asus Scar 15 is not enough as there is Scar II  then the Model by year and or model by the missing letters and numbers.   As well what version AVX are you running.  ?

EDIT : Pretty complicated stuff.     A lot to learn to run it stable and to best for CPU.     Fogged my brains.   Some how have never heard about AVX before..... weird.

Download and install Speccy - https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy

Run it, and then go to File and Publish Snapshot. Post the resulting link in your next reply

Please explain your Laptop usage such as work only or is it multi-purpose ??

Reason : is that some games  need AVX and chip model  is minimum requirement.   So yes Speccy would be useful.

Depending you can get Thermal Pads that would help with the heat that is generated with AVX.   As well you could also put in better thermal paste than possibly than what came with the laptop.  (I have Thermal Pads and better than standard paste, my Tuf runs hot)

As not provided enough info as stated do not know if can run or have it installed : MyASUS which can be got from your Support Page maybe.  If not you can get it in the MS Store.

It has Diagnostic software on in it.  This software can be run and what it does during one of the tests is to spin up the fan on the Video Card to Max.   This then blows the dust out of the system as well since it (My Laptop a Tuf vs your Rog) sheds heat through the keyboard will also produce enough spin that it vents at high speed to blow dust out of the keyboard venting.

Keeping your ROG Updated is most important. MyASUS does that also.  Since is a ROG will have on your Support Page : Armoury Crate and when run Open the Gear Icon (Settings) then top Middle is Update.

So there is 3 ways to update your ROG. (and I use all 3.)

"Laptops in particular the issue isn't so much IF the hardware can run it, but how badly the hardware will thermal throttle."

https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/13qxssb/asia_tuf_gaming_a17_compatibility/   (was looking up my laptop)

For some reason I find more people that are dual Booting Linux that have problems than regular users.

It really is not a topic at all.
