Vinyl records, cassette tapes and CDs are making a comeback I hope its the same for DVDs and Blu Rays. I mean a lot of these streaming services are bleeding cash like crazy not to mention a lot of these indie studios don't have any steaming services and people seem to be getting sick of not truly owning their media. Just look at what Sony tried to do with Discovery content that people purchased and soddenly they can't watch it anymore :censored:  people got ticked off and Sony and Discovery did a full 180 on that decision. So I'm hoping that a similar thing happens with DVDs and Blu Rays. They need to make a comeback power to the consumer. :)

You can still purchase CD/DVD/DVD-RW/Blu Ray disks and drives.

Movie nuts still want high quality thus Blu Ray will be around for a long time as they fill their libraries as well use in 3rd world countries.

SSD and HDD Storage Drive costs are low thus the level of storage has changed as well Cloud based storage.

Tape Drives and Tapes are available at extremely high cost due to changed tech for them.

Some aspects like movies, I don't think they left, just not as prolific as they used to be.

I get a lot of movie entertainment from my local library..

Of new releases, there are actually more DVDs than BluRay dics on their shelves.

I don't do streaming. My local library keeps a good assortment of popular movies.

I hope they keep it up.

But I do understand your concerns.

For music, I make it a point to buy a CD from the artists themselves.  About tapes however, we can do without because they are so fragile compared to vinyls and DVD.
