I received the new old stock hard drive from eBay the other day, and attempted to run the XP setup disc slipstreamed with the SATA drivers. Right off, I thought there might be a problem with this hard drive as it's making a clicking sound (listen to attached recording, delete the .zip extension, I had to put that so that the attachment would upload). But I went ahead and booted from the disc. XP setup went through the process of loading the setup files and then I got this BSOD. Tried a second time and it failed at the same point. Based on the sound and the BSOD attached, do you think this drive is faulty? I reconnected the old HD and the system works fine. Thank you...

Hi, Clicking means the drive is going.      Sorry I have no interest in the video, words do work as the clicking means the drive is going and almost gone.   The arm of the disk is hitting the platter of the HDD.

It used to be referred to as the Click of Death for Iomega Zip Drives.   So time for another drive.

Ok yes, just wanted to confirm what I thought. Since the CMOS battery solved the original issue, I'll just go ahead and wing it with the drive that's still working and back up frequently.
