You'll need to weigh advantages & disadvantages of each product to determine what best suits your needs.
Having said that, how much are your data, documents, photos, and videos worth?
And how much time & effort do want to expend reinstalling Windows in the event of an OS or hardware catastrophe?
For me, even with a limited budget, it's worth the nominal expense for a robust, paid backup program with available tech support. So I use Macrium (paid), as well as additional, layered, on-site and off-site data backup solutions.
Others will, I'm sure, have other opinions.
Edited to add: It costs money to develop, code, QA and support high-quality software.
