BleepingComputer Review:

GiveMePower is an advanced system administration tool that allows you to open a program that runs at the System level, which is a higher permission level than Administrator.  There are many system level Registry entries and permissions that even an Administrator does not have access to.  Using GiveMePower, your program will run as the System user and be able to access this normally forbidden data.

This is especially handy with malware that created Registry entries that an Administrator does not have access to. These Registry entries, though, would most likely allow the SYSTEM user access in order for drivers to access it.  With GMP you can start Regedit as the SYSTEM user and now be able to access these types of entries.

Note: This is a very powerful program and should only be used if you know what you are doing. Using a program like this can give certain programs great ability to damage your Windows installation.

2.1.0 Changelog:

Requirements: .NetFramework 2.0 +
Supports Windows XP up to Windows 10 TP

Company's Description:

GiveMePower (GMP) is a tool that will give you "System Level" privilege for the application you will open with it. "System Level" privilege are similar to "Root" under Linux system and by so, it is higher than Administrator.

Typical usage :

  • Can help installing a driver that have access denied problem.
  • Accessing previously inaccessible registry region with "regedit".
  • System files edit. ETC...

GMP is a powerful and dangerous utility. It should only be used by users who known what they are doing.

Some application were not made to have this kind of system privilege and may do react unexpectedly; so be careful.
