Simple System Tweaker is a free utility that optimizes various functions in Windows. These tweaks could allow for faster boot and shutdown times, faster network file sharing, and better stability.  Unlike many of the system optimizers on the market that display numerous errors so that you will buy the program to fix them, Simple System Tweaker is free and allows you full control over what tweaks you would like to apply.

Simple System Tweaker offers a variety of tweaks that you can select and customize for your computer.  Even better, next to each tweak option is a description as to what it does and the registry key associated with it.  Furthermore, the first time you run the program it performs a backup of your Windows Registry so that you are able to revert back to your normal settings if an issue arises.

A few examples of the tweaks included in this program are:

• Launching Explorer in its own process - This makes it so that if your explorer process crashes, it does not close all of your open folders as well.
• Speed up Shutdown - Auto kill hung programs and services - This causes Windows to not wait 20 seconds for you to acknowledge you want to close a program during shutodown.
• Improve Network File Sharing - It does this by keeping mapped drives from auto disconnecting.  This makes access to these drives quicker as they do not need to reconnect again.
• Service Optimization by disable various services or setting them to manual when they are not needed.
• Visual Tweaks to increase performance of Windows.

Overall, this is a very handy program to have and the fact that it clearly explains what changes it makes, allows us to trust it even more.

Added the new default v2 color scheme to the program and also changed it to the new default for a new install of the program. So now the colors are lighter with the new default, but of course users are able to change it to any colors they like.
