W10, all updates.I have had Cinebench installed for about 4 years. I rarely use it, as my desktop is barely middle of the road. Sometimes I just use it to see how high my gpu and cpu temps will go under stress.

Today at would not open. Message said this app cannot open. I figured an uninstall and reinstall were in order, but it was not in the programs list, either in the control panel, or in Revo Uninstaller. I downloaded a fresh copy, but the installer was missing.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Windows has a habit of deleting/removing/and making disappear Start Menu entries for programs.

Most often these can be found where you installed the program and can run it from there or create a shortcut for the Start Menu.

Since this is high level program that wants and does have entry for high level testing I would imagine that Defender or your A/V has deleted the Installer.

You may wish to install this to have more control over Defender using it's hidden controls : https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/configuredefender.html

So the why, and hope the how is covered above for you.

Off Topic : So have more control over Defender A/V this is for the Firewall : https://www.binisoft.org/wfc

Made by a developer now with Malwarebytes, thus the Colours.

EDIT : try downloading from here : https://www.techspot.com/downloads/6709-cinebench.html

It is not recommended to be running Stress tests on a system that does not require to be stressed.

This lowers the lifespan of older systems.

Thanks. Now downloading from the link you posted. Not expecting good result, as this was the same link I tried yesterday. Wouldn't Defender have indicated the install failed? There was no notification.

Follow up.

Installed today and ran properly. Whatever the problem was, it fixed itself.
