I have a Windows 10 Home Local account and no MS account. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth will not run. It tries, the command prompt panel appears for a split second then disappears. I can run sfc /scannow OK.

Is this due to me not having a MS account ?

Can follow instructions and post requested information? If yes then can can you postba screenshot of you running the command by opening command prompt?

I asked the first question because in an earlier thread I asked you to post a speccy and you didn't.

No, a MS account is not necessary to run DISM.
But your computer needs internet access.

Are you following these instructions?
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/7808-use-dism-repair-windows-10-image.html

When you run SFC, what does it report?
Paraphrasing, it will report either "no integrity violations" or "corrupt files it fixed" or "corrupt files it could not fix".

I did post 2 Speccy images but they were not what you wanted, I don't understand what you are asking for.

The instructions are in the post for speccy reports

You go to File in Speccy then publish Snapshot a window will pop-up with a link the link is what I wanted you didn't post that. You posted screenshots.

So can you run the above dism command from a command prompt you open via typing in cmd in the Cortana box next to the start menu button lower left and share a screenshot.

Thank you. sfc /scannow results in "no integrity violations".

To run DISM, I copy the command into Start search, then open the DISM as administrator.

Then as I have said, the panel appears for a split second and disappears.

Yes that's exactly what is needed, and also why are you running dism and sfc?

The /CheckHealth to check whether the image has been flagged as corrupted by a failed process and whether the corruption can be repaired.

Use /RestoreHealth to scan the image for component store corruption, and then perform repair operations automatically.

@Beaker77: thanks for the information so far.

It would help us to know:
WHY are you running DISM & SFC?
What problem are you experiencing?

Thank you

My thanks to all posters for your help and comments.

1. WHY are you running DISM & SFC?
2. What problem are you experiencing?

Persistent but irregular not responding on Edge. I have tried most of the suggested remedies  with little success and the running of SFC and DISM are suggested as being additional checks. So is running the Edge repair program.

As SFC and DISM are clear it only leaves the Edge repair, which is why I asked the OP question.

Have you tried all of the suggestions here?

https://www.wikihow.com/Microsoft-Edge-Not-Responding

https://www.lifewire.com/fix-microsoft-edge-not-working-5105003

Edit: According to your Speccy report, you only have 4 GB of RAM.
THAT could definitely be a contributing factor.
It is a hardware problem that might be helped by adding more RAM ****IF**** your system supports doing so.
