I noticed there are a a few apps that I've never used, and have no idea what they are for.

Dell cinama guide

Dropbox promotions

FB backup 4

Netflix

Spotify music

Do I just leave them alone, or can I get rid of them????

Just to add:  If you don't need or want them, be sure to properly UNINSTALL them (as suggested) via the Windows Control Panel

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uninstall-or-remove-apps-and-programs-in-windows-4b55f974-2cc6-2d2b-d092-5905080eaf98

... or via their own uninstaller (if available).

Users commonly post here and at other computer forums with problems from having merely randomly deleted or removed files/registry keys/shortcuts, rather than performing a proper uninstall.

Just a friendly suggestion...

I always delete them from the settings window.

Seems like the easiest way for me.

LOL deleting does not uninstall them.   Deleting never uninstalls anything ever.

As you wish.... :-)

However, to respectfully reiterate, programs & applications need to be UNINSTALLED, not "deleted".
Specific steps *may* vary from program to program.
But "deleting" is not the best or cleanest practice.

Respectfully submitted & EOD for me

Cheers

I assume you means the gear icon and then apps and programs to remove/delete?

How about in Start Menu you try Right Click on stuff and see if there is Uninstall Option.

At the PowerShell prompt, copy and paste one or more of the following commands — pressing Enter after each command — to remove the apps you don't want on your Windows 10 system:

Uninstall 3D Builder:

Get-AppxPackage *3dbuilder* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Alarms and Clock:

Get-AppxPackage *windowsalarms* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Calculator:

Get-AppxPackage *windowscalculator* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Calendar and Mail:

Get-AppxPackage *windowscommunicationsapps* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Camera:

Get-AppxPackage *windowscamera* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Contact Support:

This app can't be removed.

Uninstall Get Office:

Get-AppxPackage *officehub* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Get Skype:

Get-AppxPackage *skypeapp* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Get Started:

Get-AppxPackage *getstarted* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Groove Music:

Get-AppxPackage *zunemusic* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Maps:

Get-AppxPackage *windowsmaps* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Microsoft Solitaire Collection:

Get-AppxPackage *solitairecollection* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Money:

Get-AppxPackage *bingfinance* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Movies & TV:

Get-AppxPackage *zunevideo* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall News:

Get-AppxPackage *bingnews* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall OneNote:

Get-AppxPackage *onenote* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall People:

Get-AppxPackage *people* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Phone Companion:

Get-AppxPackage *windowsphone* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Photos:

Get-AppxPackage *photos* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Sports:

Get-AppxPackage *bingsports* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Voice Recorder:

Get-AppxPackage *soundrecorder* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Weather:

Get-AppxPackage *bingweather* | Remove-AppxPackage

Uninstall Windows Feedback:

This app can't be removed.

Uninstall Xbox:

Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage

Note this only uninstalls from active use it does not uninstall the ability to reinstall them as they are part of the OS.  So yes there is Powershell commands to return them.

Correct about deleting, it leaves  stuff all over the place and in your Refistry which will end up with Errors.

Use Geek Uninstaller or Revo Uninstaller as they get more than the programs uninstaller does.

Yes.

I think you just confused Pkshadow when you said "delete them from the settings window". Everyone else understood what you meant.

The Apps section of Settings was Windows 10's replacement for Control Panel's Programs & Features for uninstalling programs. Programs & Features still exists in Windows 10 which I and likely others prefer for removing software, but Apps in Settings works good enough.

AdwCleaner from Malwarebytes can get rid of a lot of those unwanted and pre-installed bloat apps (junk).

I tried AdwCleaner once, and had nothing but problems with it.

It removed something that I used.

Not sure why.

So I removed it.
