I can't recall the last time I was nagged to update Windows, but I recently manually updated to 22H2. Since then I've been notified of update after update. I thought 22H2 would be a one-off, final, update, especially as Win 10 is no longer supported. How do I stop it updating, or at least, nagging me to do it?

Edition    Windows 10 Home
Version    22H2
Installed on    ‎18/‎02/‎24
OS build    19045.4046

It may be that update KB5034441 is trying and failing to install daily on your system. It's been doing this to a lot of people.

Yes, it is possible that KB5034441 is trying to install.
Check your Windows Updates history (& post a screenshot).

If that's not the problem, then....

After a major Feature Update (e.g. from 21H2 to 22H2), it's not unusual to be offered several minor updates. That is not unexpected until it gets “caught up”.

22H2 19045.4046 is the current version & build:

Perhaps you are using Windows Defender for security? It updates its definitions & databases regularly. That is normal, too.

FYI Windows 10 22H2 is the last major feature update. It will continue to receive security updates until end of service in October 2025.
This is normal, too.

Interestingly still screwed - KB5034441 - 8 days ago - https://www.windowslatest.com/2024/02/14/windows-10-kb5034441-is-still-broken-with-0x80070643-error/ revealed the security update would not install with an error message titled “0x80070643 – ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE”.

EDIT : "and block other updates"

Edit : I really wonder who they talk to for upgrades and how they decide to kill things such as Win 11 Show Desktop and replace/turn off

which usually means gone sooner or later.

Mail and Calendar app with prompt to use Outlook. (does not bother me have never used since was in Win95)

Possibly do a screen shot of the nagging?

If you open Settings and go into Update and Security it'll tell you what updates are pending and it'll also mentioned if the KB5034441 update is repeatedly trying to update itself. If that is the problem we can talk you through ignoring it.

Agree - as I mentioned in my original reply, this will be the easiest way to determine if KB5034441 is trying repeatedly to install.....
