Hi, Everyone. I am having problems upgrading my HP laptop from W7 to W10. All I get are prerecorded messages and instructions.

Does MS have a phone number where you can talk to an actual live human?

Thank You,

EG

Since the free Update to Windows 10 is Officially over you need to purchase Windows 10.   There is no point in talking to someone to tell you this.

If your system has TPM Support and is something that will take you can go from Win7 to Win11 but again not for free.

It would be advised to update your BIOS and your Drivers from your Motherboard Support Page or Branded System Support Page.

MS Page : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/upgrade-to-windows-10-faq-cce52341-7943-594e-72ce-e1cf00382445

Must also have Win7 SP1 installed : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/update-that-enables-you-to-upgrade-from-windows-7-to-a-later-version-of-windows-e5ff3864-897d-67bf-6915-4b3e4c6b72a5

Note : it is a weekend, it also now runs on PSTime for that.  Nobody around.

Can try online chat : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/

You can go to the Microsoft Store and buy a license.  s about 90bucks if remember

Amazon.

Ebay but the level of trust is you may get a OEM key that has been used too many times.  Not a trust worthy place.

EDIT : expand and explain your issue you are having. Maybe a way around it.
