hi,  on this HP laptop with Windows 10 i would like to be able to view the hidden files but when i go to View when using explorer and click on "hidden files" it doesn't seem to stay.  is it a registry issue?  if so maybe one or you can walk me through the steps.

thanks again

it looks like I posted this in the wrong area, show I move it to Windows 10 Discussion Forum?

You did the following steps?

Open File Explorer. Click the View Tab and Select Options > Change Folder and Search Options. Click the View tab and and check Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives. Click "Apply to All Folders". Click Apply.

Then it should have stuck. It may be that FastStartup is causing the problem. It uses a hibernation file to save settings for a quicker starup. Disable it by doing the following.

Type CMD in the search bar. Right Click > Run As Administrator. Type the following commands.

powercfg.exe -h off
shutdown /p

This will immediately shut down the computer so save any open programs first.

Reboot and do the same steps. See if the setting sticks. Other than that I would not know what the problem would be.
