Hi:

Your Speccy link is broken.

But, as explained, Windows 11 requires a CPU (& other components) that meet hardware requirements.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/whats-new/windows-11-requirements

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-11-system-requirements-86c11283-ea52-4782-9efd-7674389a7ba3

Moreover, the registry hacks and other "workarounds" that currently allow Windows 11 to run on unsupported hardware will no longer be permitted with feature upgrade 24H2, due in April:

https://www.ghacks.net/2024/02/12/windows-11-24h2-to-enforce-hardware-requirement/

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/02/windows-11-24h2-goes-from-unsupported-to-unbootable-on-some-older-pcs/

https://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-making-sure-you-know-why-old-unsupported-cpu-cant-bypass-windows-11-requirements/

You can use the Windows 11 Requirements Check Tool to check why you cannot upgrade your current computer to Windows 11.

Good luck! :)

@midi:

FWIW the official MS link for the PC Health Check app is here:

https://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-11#pchealthcheck

AND: that very same link is embedded in the MS article I linked in the reply above yours.

Moreover, from the sound of it, the OP likely has already run the tool, as he reported that MS had determined his computer to have unsupported hardware.

Respectfully submitted

Yes, I see that now from the attached screenshot (I'm on my mobile, not my PC).

Thanks for the clarification. :-)

So, @cumulo, as we have all pointed out: your system is - unfortunately - too old to run Windows 11.
With the upcoming enforcement of hardware requirements, I suggest that you not tempt fate to try it, unless you have a way back, should the process go "pear-shaped".

Using the Microsoft registry hack for 'unapprovd' PCs...

I got my Lenovo  I5 3470 with 8 gb ram and a SSD up and running just fine with Win 11 Pro.

But, at some time the updates might stop as MS has stated.

Hi, @JBG:

It's not a question of "approval", but rather hardware support.
I'm certainly not shilling for MS.
It's just reality....

And to reiterate, the hardware requirements are scheduled to be enforced, starting with feature update 24H2, due in April.

ICYMI:

https://www.ghacks.net/2024/02/12/windows-11-24h2-to-enforce-hardware-requirement/

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/02/windows-11-24h2-goes-from-unsupported-to-unbootable-on-some-older-pcs/

https://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-making-sure-you-know-why-old-unsupported-cpu-cant-bypass-windows-11-requirements/

Among others...

Again, offered "as is".
Make of it what you will.

Cheers

Yep, the updates will probably stop on my Lenovo.

But, currently, Win 11 will install and 'run just fine' on some older PCs...like mine.

According to this MS link, the EOL for 23H2 is 11-11-2025

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-11-home-and-pro

However, my main OS is a Linux distro and I only installed Win 11 out of curiosity on a spare computer.

I do use Windows offline where updates are largely irrelevant, so I might have a use for it.

Currently using Win7 Pro and it's all I need offline, atm.

Yeah, a new computer is a better Idea going into the future, but...as I posted, I did install Win 11 pro on a version 3 Intel I5 where some said it couldn't be done. Currently, it can be done.

:)

You can install the new Windows 11 builds that MoxieMomma is referring to on a system without the SSE4 extensions. It just won't boot without those CPU instructions. Sort of inconvenient.

I would imagine so.

I didn't have that problem and I'm not recommending what I did. :)

But it was a cheap way to test run it lol.

Well no, you wouldn't have that problem on a released version. It's in 24H2, which is not finalized yet.

I suspect I'll be seeing  'gotchas' before 24H2, as MS ramps up it's AI.

I noticed that there were an inadvertent space at the end of the Speccy link in Post #1, which now is working, and when I marked the main part of it without that space, and opened the resulting link, I noticed the following:

The OP's CPU temperature is 102 °C, the motherboard temperature is 76 °C, the Windows Update AutoUpdate is Not configured, he is running ESET Firewall, ESET Security, Malwarebytes, Avast Antivirus, AVG Secure VPN, the User Account Control (UAC) Notify level is 1 - Rare Notify, AnyDesk.exe and TeamViewer_Service.exe are running. :exclame:
