Hello everyone

I wonder whether anyone could help, please.

Whenever I hover the mouse-pointer over the Navigation Pane, in FileExplorer, a tiny plus sign appears on the left of the folders (those in the Navigation Pane’s lower section).

If, in order to see its content on the main, usual area, I click on one of those folders, all its subfolders drop down also in the navigation pane.

The possible solution I saw online (right-click in the navigation pane and toggling “Expand to current folder”) doesn’t work.

No matter what I do, no matter what I try, I cannot disable the “Expand To Current Folder” (that is, the plus sign on the left-hand-side of folders in the Navigation Pane’s lower section).

I’ve scoured the internet (including, of course, Microsoft’s own “forum”). I’ve asked friends, acquaintances and technicians. Nothing works.

What should I do??

In advance, thank you very much for your kind assistance.

Christian

I had already checked all of that. And much more.  Thanks, anyway, for your kind help.

Did you try options two & three here:

https://www.elevenforum.com/t/turn-on-or-off-expand-folder-in-navigation-pane-of-file-explorer-in-windows-11.2544/

If those don't work, then perhaps consider DISM & SFC, or a non-destructive repair install via an in-place upgrade?
