Hi all,

Trying to turn old company laptop to personal laptop. I have erased the disk. I went onto the MS site and downloaded Windows 11 and the ISO creator tool, then used Rufus to burn the ISO on a USB drive. I then selected the USB from the BIOS to run the windows install.

It runs a windows install, but then comes up with the account for my old company. Why? What is left on the computer that I haven't deleted?

Or, is it possible the ISO windows installer is missing something? I did not get a key, and haven't parted with any cash yet.....

Any tips and tricks? I've tried multiple sites and instructions are easy, until something doesn't do according to plan, like now...

I used Killdisk Standard DoD 3 rounds. Seemed to work fine, and deleted the OS. Just installing a new OS doesn't work

hmmm, seems there's no way around Intune then as you have to remove via the settings app on the machine, which you can't log into with the old company account....

Not sure if it is related to your issue but why did you use Rufus at all, you would have been better to use the media creation tool and select the for use on another computer option.
