I have a 128gb sd card in my Andriod tablet. I now have a 9thgen ipad.

I want to upload the sd cards files to the 256gb storage in the ipad.

I have a card reader I use to move sd card data around my Andriod phones/tablets and my PC.

The reader has a USB-C connector. My iPad has a lightning socket so I bought this adaptor:-

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BFHK88FC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_asin_title

This adaptor allows me to use the USB-C connector from my 5V generic charger to charge the ipad.

However when I put the adaptor on the USB-C connector on my card reader and plug into the iPad I cannot see the sd card on the ipad so I cannot transfer the files.

What am I doing wrong?

Any advice please?

In the description on the link you provided.

Does Not Support OTG HDMI & Audio which means Mouse, Keyboard, Card Reader, U Disk, Flash Drive, External Hard Drives, Neither video nor audio)

It would be a kludge workaround but could you transfer the files via Bluetooth?

Edit: If you have fast internet you could upload the files to the cloud then download them to the ipad.
