I have an old PC and reinstalled Win ME and it is 32-bit I believe. I chose Large Drive Capabilities at fresh install. It is online but it will not go anywhere because I believe it is pre-loaded with IE 3 0r 4, LOL!  The old spinning globe works great :D

What Stand-Alone browser can I get? I have to keep switching cables to go from here to the old tower.  I could gather all I needed (drivers) if I could surf any way possible. Please Help!!!

Even back in 2007, I fired up an old Windows ME machine, and found that internet/browsing was completely unusable even back then.

You can try opening the File Explorer, and erase what is at the top of the bar that starts with C:\User...... (or whatever the current folder name is), and replacing it with:

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/download/thanks/

It sounds weird, but File Explorer has a jumping off point to the internet. You can even try it on a newer Windows PC to see this in action.

Even when I get older Windows PC's with Win98 to connect to the internet, often Bing is the only page that will load (and not very well at that).

If that fails, try typing one of these combinations into File Explorer:

ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/1.0.1/win32/en-US/

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/1.0.1/win32/en-US/

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/1.0.1/win32/en-US/

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last version of Firefox to be supported on ME.

This is an old thread, but you can run much later versions of Firefox with KernelEx: http://kernelex.sourceforge.net/

This would allow you to run up to Firefox 52.9 (though you will need to follow instructions on how to get it working here: http://kernelex.sourceforge.net/wiki/Mozilla_Firefox )
