Hello everyone!

I have had my EIZO CS230 for ~7 yrs. A few days ago, a dark vertical stripe and some patches suddenly started appearing on the right side of the screen.

- It's not the graphics card or HDMI cable. The defect is visible when I turn the screen on while the computer is disconnected.

- Tried disconnecting the screen from power, with no effect.

- The patches actually disappear after a few minutes. The stripe slightly brightens as well, but does not disappear entirely.

Does anybody have an idea what's going on and how to fix it? I can take it apart if necessary, I also have another display of the same model I can use for spare parts (only the panel is broken).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you need a new screen, the present one is just showing its age, seven years is not too bad for a screen that had a five year warranty.

Thank you, I see your point. Would you have a recommendation for a comparable display in terms of quality and reasonable price that's on the market nowadays? Besides EIZO.

Eizo is a high end brand which make displays aimed at photography use and other work where colour accuracy is a factor.  Perhaps something here will take your interest - https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/buying-guides/best-monitors-for-photographers   In the 24" range, this looks quite well reviewed - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1397520-REG/benq_sw240_24_ips_wuxga.html/reviews

Thanks guys, I appreciate your answers. I guess I'm lucky after all, there's a guy selling an EIZO CS2420 in the area where I live. He's selling it for $240 with less than thousand hours.
