Hi everyone, I have a Legion Slim 5 16IRH8 - Type 82YA which has 16GB RAM, (2x8) DDR5 and I want to upgrade to 32GB. The listing for my laptop on Currys says it supports 32GB.

I have looked at the parts for my laptop on Lenovo website and I can purchase: Lenovo MEMORY,16G,DDR5,5600,SODIMM,SAMSUNG
Part No5M31K03047
CommodityMEMORY

Would this be compatible or do I need to get another 2x8 GB? Cheers.

Heres the laptop: https://www.currys.co.uk/products/lenovo-legion-slim-5i-16-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i7-rtx-4070-1-tb-ssd-10249266.html

i7-13700H Max Memory Speed Supported : Up to DDR5 5200 , Up to DDR4 3200

You buy 4 new ones matched sets.  or buy 2 of the same speed matched set, same brand as what is in there.

You do not do what your looking to do.

Are you saying your Lenovo has DDR5,5600 installed in it now ??

Note netiquette does not take you shopping for the best answer.

You have 3 topics already.

Regardless your chip specs show the max speed of what you can stick :

i7-13700H Max Memory Speed Supported : Up to DDR5 5200 , Up to DDR4 3200  without damaging the chip.  This does not take into account XMP or other forms of ram speed up in BIOS.   If running XMP ram should possibly be around 4800MHz.

USE CPU-Z to identify your installed sticks as some are not the same. Holds true if 6gig is soldered in.

Thanks for your help. If you looked at those threads, I have no replies. Some of us arent very good with technology and need help. Im not shopping for the best answer as you suggest, Im merely trying to find answers. Apologies if youre the netiquette Police

I will run CPU-Z and find out that information. Thanks again.

OA: You visit Crucial (or Kingston's) Website. Using the Computer you plan to upgrade.

Then you run their Selector App.

It will tell you what RAM you have and give you a number of Upgrade Options.

If you buy their recommendation from either of them, their warranties are excellent.

Of course, you can take a note of their recommendation and buy cheaper elsewhere but, beware, they do not write the full specification that they are offering you on their response page
