Hello All

eariler i had a zipped file detected while doing a Defender Full scan,    I deleted the File manually,  yet the Protection History still shows Quarantine, Remove or Allow action.     Or Redemption Incomplete on some of them.

How do i go about clearing the list in Windows 11 Defender?

Latest Scan Said No New Threats Found,  but Protection History list still have a huge list

Issue Solved!!

finishing up Malwarebytes Scan now,  all clean so far

Definitely was a false positive--as that file was a zipped folder, and well i shouldn't have downloaded it in the first place

Hi:

Is this you and your computer, by any chance? (The problem sounds very similar)

Yes that was Me on Eleven Forum (didn't really need to post here i realized after the fact)   Despite Microsoft Safety Scanner Still says Files Infected 7,   Though Malwarebytes Full Scan (0) All clean,  Defender Full scans now (0) threats found all clean.

Windows 11 Protection history finally did clear in Safe Mode

Finally was able to delete the Zipped Folder that caused this whole mess via Command Prompt.

(I still have to check the externals to make sure no other copies of that offending zip file)

Despite Microsoft Safety Scanner Still says Files Infected 7

At what stage is this indicated?

If Microsoft Safety Scanner (MSERT) detects threats while the scan is running but does not show anything after the scan has completed...that is normal behavior. When there are no detections found upon completion of a scan and there are no items listed in quarantined, that means Microsoft Safety Scanner completed it's scan and determined all scanned files were not malware related. It is normal for for Microsoft Safety Scanner to suspect and warn about possible threats during a scan (preliminary status indication) but determine the file(s) were not actual confirmed threat(s) upon completion. The initial detection could be due to Behavior-based analysis, heuristic analysis or an incorrect virus signature in the database. Suspected threats are automatically submitted to Microsoft Defender Antivirus Security Intelligence (MDASI) Center server where the file(s) is checked against signature updates in the master database. If a match is found verifying it as malicious, updated signatures will be downloaded in order to take action on the detection. If the detection is determined to be incorrect or a false positive, no action is necessary.

Yeah at the Beginning of the Scan Said Files infected 7,  end of the Scan with Microsoft Safety Scanner said No Threats found, and i verfiied with the log file as well.    So think all is good now on system lol.     I tend to panic at times more than i should honestly--sometimes i'm a major panic type of guy lol.

Think i should be all good now for sure lol
