How badly does Firewall messes with Internet Latency?

Hi.. I am unable to trace the high latency issue since my ISP has shown me a complete routing map of my IP and all the possible routes that it takes while I game online. 

One thing they asked me to do is turn off the windows firewall, my security product firewall protection and my router firewall disabled too. 

How bad all these things contribute to high latency issues? 

I have a fiber to home connection and a 100mbit package. 

Anyone here can help? 

PS: Internet runs smooth, pings are always good on most of the games except for Rainbow Six siege. 

Firewalls can be the issue but it shouldn't be.

There are other reasons why you get the lag in gaming

1. Hardwired over WIFI

2. Restart your modem/router

3.Close any programs that use bandwidth...ex: Dropbox

4. If the Firewall is misconfigured this can also cause the issue.

Use a speed test web site to check your latency. A couple of suggestions are:

Check your bandwidth numbers with all your security enabled, then do the same with everything disabled. Don't just assume or guess, just take a few minutes to get some actual numbers that you can then use to determine what you want to do. Offhand, I wouldn't think that latency is a part of your issue but I could be wrong. And having your computer and/or your home network sans any firewall disabled and completely exposed to the Internet is a really big risk.
