BC welcomes members posting computer related news items they may find. However, we ask that everyone follow some simple guidelines that comply with what constitutes fair use under US Copywrite Law.

1. Follow accepted rules for identifying the quoted text to clearly distinguish it from any comment. Use the BBC quote code (a box marked “quote” ) or beginning and ending quotation marks. Always provide attribution by including a link to the actual source on the WWW. Inclusion of the author's by-line and organization in news items is a common courtesy.
2. Quotations should be confined to a small portion of the article or text. Quoted material should not be so substantial as to preclude your reader from visiting the original source quoted for the entire contents. Under no circumstances should the entire article be posted; you may summarize in your own words the content of the rest of the article.
3. The news articles appearing on BC’s home page are good examples of fair use for members to follow.
4. For a more detailed discussion of Bleeping Computer's Copyrights policy, refer to this topic.
Regards,
The BC moderators
