I received the above just a few minutes ago. My best guess is that it's somehow related to a scam. Needless to say, I just closed out that window.

Burgos925:

:thumbup2:  You are right.  Your browser most probably got directed to a scammer webpage.  You did the right thing.

You might want to clean your browsing history and cookies, plus run a virus scan just to be absolutely sure if you have any worries.

Have a great day.

Regards,

Phil

I get it multiple times a day, but only when browsing dailymail.co.uk, and I only use a Private tab for them, I also run a PiHole which blocks most ads.
Get it on no other sites at all, and I get it on multiple computers, so it is an Ad of some type.

Are you able to elaborate on either one of these?  (securitypatch.life "popped up" again today [it uses a McAfee icon in my search engine history].}

Is your pihole updated, and do you use any web blockers in your browser?

I'm guessing that maybe the ad "resides"/exists on my computer, but I wouldn't know where to look for it -- except to search for "securitypatch" in File Explorer.*

There is, apparently, some controversy (I know this is an imprecise word) on pihole:  "Do the pros of maybe seeing less ads on the phone and done more privacy on the PC outweigh the cons of possible network slowdown and problems arising later ?"  (reddit.com/r/pihole/comments)

(A subsequent scan of my computer [with Windows Defender] found 1 threat.  However "No current threats"  also appeared.)

*The scan results are in the attachment.

Is your pihole updated, and do you use any web blockers in your browser?

Yes, it is updated, the suspect domain I had to manually add, but was still getting the redirect attempt.
I use Incognito browsers for news and such so the in app blockers, like ABP do not function.  But the PiHole and OpenDNS take care of 99% of the Ad and malicious sites.
The only website I was getting the redirect was on Dailymail(dot)co(dot)uk.
So I suspect it is something they were serving up, probably some scammer bought some direct advertising.
It seems to have stopped in the last week.
Since I run Incognito I can't do a traceback and find what did the redirect.
