Case fans as then may not need to do the cooler.
Max Temp : 95c is a long way to go.
The Motherboard has built in safety and in BIOS gives you options.
Default should be shut down when reaches that Temp (self preservation).

I hadn't realised that I could mount fans to the roof of the PC, so I've ordered fans to add a third intake on the front and 2 - 3 (not sure if the third will fit) as exhausts on the roof.

I noticed that you previously commented on my current and max temperature from speccy - I can't see a max temperature in speccy anywhere, just the average and current temperature, can you point me in the right direction for it please. thanks

Temp @ time of runny Speccy was 77c It is running hot for sure.
Max temp of chip is 95c from your Chip Spec Sheet : https://www.amd.com/en/product/8456
- 95C is the "TJMax" of the CPU, TJMax being the max operating temperature of the chip (which older chips would normally begin to throttle at). - TJMax is different to the max SAFE operating temperature and is not putting the chip at any risk. Older chips throttle to prevent reaching damaging temperatures.
TJMAax is used or was sed for Overclocking mostly : https://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/ good little program.
Case fans - Generally, you want the case fans in front of the case drawing in air while the fans at the rear blow air out. If your case has vents at the top, they should be placed as exhaust fans because hot air will rise. Side-mounted fans should be used for intake, though they often don't have air filters.

well, I ordered four fans, but I've only installed two of them and I'm on 45C (I think a bit higher when I saved the speccy link). I now have 3 intake at the front, one exhaust at the back, and one exhaust at the back on the top. I could install two more on the top, but following from the link that you sent, to maintain positive pressure as per your article I'd need to mount one as intake in the top - forward slot and one as exhaust in the top - centre slot. Given that the temps are now reasonable, is it worth doing that, or should I return the unused fans and save £20?

Hi, see what you get when change : Active power scheme: AMD Ryzen Balanced to something else such as Balanced non-AMD after reading below URL's only.
Not sure what you have done to address Post #3 re drives....
But considering you have a 30c drop in Temps from 1st Speccy Report is really good. 45c @ idle is still considered hot.
Are CPU Voltages correct ? CPU Fan Speed is over 1300RPM so it is running fast.
Think will just shove these at you for reference and reading.

I can not say return or do not return. Will say that expansion of any parts will produce heat such as Video Card Replacement in the future, nor Windows requirements or changes for a imaginary (at this time) Win12. Adding more drives that on average run @ 30c each is going to change the dynamics within the box.
The box can always be kept and and a New M/B, Chip, Ram, Drives installed into it (saving 100.00 or so) in the future. So if box is future proof what would you need, more fans.
As well fan/s do get noisy and bearings wear out.
So what would those fans be in the future if needed to replace or add ?
Complicated by heat.
(I went water cooled myself for my i-7, have 2 front, 1 side, 1 rear, 1 PSU bottom intake & rear exhaust , big fan on top which am replacing with a Noctua as soon as remember before turning it on)
