Hi, yes I remember that. Forgot to add that to my last post. In future make the claim as we have a lot of words in there since I made the same claim # 3 and your answer of ownership in Post # 4.
The mistake was not intended. A little help if post again re info. Keep it short is a must. Way too much info = way too much words = way to long.
In this circumstance the info is all in the Dump Files which point to the direction and if notice names of drivers. Your info for other issues keep again short.
Use proper names/models (as previously mentioned and you acknowledged as helpful for both of us.)
Other than way too much info/ words. It takes practise to condense to make sense
RE : DDU, not at all. As mentioned must have been a typo re date you said the 14th, I saw the 15th for same version driver. You uninstalled and installed as was asked, good work :=}
1) No. Re Intel from there. It is from here : https://rog.asus.com/ca-en/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-scar-16-2023-series/helpdesk_download/
You go by the INTEL Chip you are running for those things i9-13980HX which gives you
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/232138/intel-core-i913980hx-processor-36m-cache-up-to-5-60-ghz/downloads.html
You can use the Arc/Iris for your onboard chip Video Drivers if so wish. Note : This page will only be up until chip is deemed obsolete. You then need to find the driver after which may or may not be from that page you listed. Search term or drivers is : Intel Arc & Iris Xe Graphics - Windows
Already identified processor : i9-13980HX, Do not need Linux Driver, not gaming so no tuning, the last maybe in some circumstances but it is usually to late.
THIS : is what is being asked for you to Update Regarding Intel
Ok, basically regarding Intel Drivers and NVIDIA as well as others. I have found the best experience by not downloading or allowing Microsoft Supplied Drivers into my system.
Video Drivers from Microsoft even when say are from NVIDIA are a lesser driver that the full deal from the maker, As well they cause issues.
My suggestion is do not take Optional Video Card Drivers from Microsoft Update. It is a cause of many system issues.
So that being said use ArmouryCrate to Update or use the Support Page I supplied as per proper name. The other option is (though is not listed in your downloads but) is available on the MS Store is MyASUS (Asus info page) https://www.asus.com/content/asus-software/ so if have warranty left can talk, has a diagnostic, provides updates, sends your info to Asus plus a lot of stuff useful to some but not others. The Diagnostic is great. I have no problems but use it to push the GPU Fan to full speed which blows out dust as well as comes through the keyboard and cleans that way as well.
I have found that there is info on MyASUS on your Support Page when show all.
Now I left the link to the above to here : https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/myasus/9N7R5S6B0ZZH?hl=en-ca&gl=US
As I wanted you too know that the Microsoft Store is a Integral part of Updating Windows 11.
Open the store from Start (do not need to be logged in) and go down the left side till mouse finds Library. Update what you use such as Notepad, system uses Powershell keep updated for security, remove previous versions.
2 ) RE : Acronis, read to IT dept what was mentioned about it. They may have a comment or info as to updating or a setting to change.....
If all you have to do is have it installed and there are no setting changes you can add or remove at anytime and update to a more current version which is what is being asked of you.
So basically never Video drivers from MS Update Optional. Or other drivers if there is a source on the Support Page or through MyASUS or ArmouryCrate
Since you are running Pro you can do this to stop Specific drivers from MS Update : https://www.howtogeek.com/263851/how-to-prevent-windows-from-automatically-updating-specific-drivers/
I bet if you look in Updates--> Drivers will find a date got a video driver update from ms and that is when the issue started.
You can also Stop all driver updates from MS : https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disable-automatic-driver-updates-windows-10 /11
As well you can roll back a driver : https://www.windowscentral.com/how-roll-back-device-driver-windows-10 /11
You are doing well. I am wordy trying to explain things here.
When doing Dump Files basically only need make/model, Speccy, Dump and what you were doing when happened, report on drivers updated by MS Update
as all the info is in the Dumps.
OK, So I think have answered all. @!ubuysa will have different opinion on Updates. But for Video and a 2023 Laptop, get from the maker.
