If you have a Hotmail or Outlook email then you already have One Drive account as it's one in the same.

Yeah I do have hotmail .. and I do get outlook notifications on notification panel.  But I guess I need to sign in.  Right now the One Drive icon on taskbar says "One Drive Personal. Not signed in"

My HP model # 15-dwOxxx.

That model number identifies the product range but not the specific model.

The light in question is probably for hard-drive activity.

Does the specific model include device and product ID  ?

Yes, right, that light I was referring to is to indicate hard drive ..
