No screenshot

Sorry, I thought I had it done.

Sorry. That did not work because of a typo on my part.

Either try again using the correct command from the elevated command prompt: slrmgr /dlv

Or follow the Windows 10 instructions here:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/activate-windows-c39005d4-95ee-b91e-b399-2820fda32227#WindowsVersion=Windows_10

Post back with a screenshot of the results.

ALSO: Please answer @Allan's questions here:
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/794859/new-comp-new-problems/#entry5618302

Thank you

I hope this is what you wanted.

Yes, thanks for that.

Windows appears to be properly activated.

So, that excludes license activation as a cause for the issue you report.

We have your Speccy report.

We still need the MiniToolBox report.

PLEASE DO THIS:

  • Please download and install MiniToolBox from here:  https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/minitoolbox/
  • Place a checkmark in the following boxes:

List Last 10 Event Viewer Errors
    List Installed Programs
    List Problematic Devices
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

  • Click “Go"
  • Please post the text of the results here by copying and pasting them directly into your next reply in this thread.

Thank you

Edited for typo

Yeah create a new system user and see if the issues happen there.

First, could you explain why?  And second, I don't know how to do that.  Can you get me some instructions?

The reason is that your profile (pole keeping after edit to maintain hilarity) might be corrupted and the new one will confirm this or confirm if it's system wide.

Hi, you have a left over in Task Scheduler : McUpdaterModuleTask & SecurityScannerSchedule = McAFee. - delete.  There maybe leftovers else where.

Always use Geek or Revo Uninstaller to uninstall programs as they get more.

Turn Power Scheme to Balanced as High performance is a form of overclocking and causes heat.

A note on Wallpaper changers including Bing, They cause issues.  Some can run with no problems, others it is the cause of the issues.

EDIT : mixing up 2 Surface Systems. Request deleted.

Thank  you.  I didn't really understand the explanation, as I am not in the least computer savvy, but I appreciate you trying to explain it.  I'll try the new profile trick, and see what happens.

Oh, what do I do after I try the new profile?  Do I run those other tests again?

I didn't really understand the explanation...

Your profile is the collection of things that are specific to your user account on the PC, as opposed to other users on the same PC. So, documents, browser bookmarks, desktop wallpaper, e-mail settings, that kind of thing. Things that are custom to your use of the PC that other people may want setup differently.

What cryptodan is doing is having you do is create another user account, to see if the problem happens under that account also. If it does, then the problem is system-wide. If it doesn't, it's something specific to your user account.

Okay, couldn't change the wallpaper under the new profile.  And now it's saying that the format (.jpg) on all my pictures is unsupported...even the ones that were supported just a couple of days ago.  So, what do I do now?

I'd create a windows 10 iso here

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO

And perform a reinstall after backing up data.
