What's your Linux desktop look like?

You mean the "Image Link" Icon, or the "My Media" > "Attachments".  Just trying to learn this site.

This uses less Bandwidth?  I would think the "Direct Link" would use less Bandwidth.

When I use Photobucket, Imgur or other such services, could care less about the bandwidth (unless there's an agreement, or 'Acceptable Use Policy', often in bold regarding it), these services are often ad funded, plus premium subscribers helps to defray costs. If there's an issue, they'll warn you before cutting your Service off (normally), unless you're suspected of committing an illegal act or violating their TOS. Normally 'overages' has to be committed in two or more consecutive months to be flagged. You'd likely have to be doing a lot of uploading for this to happen, like in the top 1-2% of free users. That would likely be a lot of uploading. 

Though I went through the steps of creating an Imgur account, never used it the first time. Just wanted to see what the big deal was, I believe inspired by another Topic. Turns out it was no big deal after all. Account created faster than the Photobucket one, years back. The reason why I continue to use Photobucket, is that I have lots of pictures on the site over the course of nearly 5 years & am using less than 5% of what my no-cost plan calls for. I'm not swapping services from one to another when nothing's broken. Yet if I felt that my Photobucket account would be in danger of termination & needed a throwaway service to post pics, Imgur is now at my disposal. 

Too, most all of these sites has a link directly for forum posting. That's why it's there, to be used. Imgur & similar services wants you to use these tools.

Some of this may be to assist in protecting your privacy.

So these options are using bc.com's Bandwidth, and Any Choice on another image hosting site is using Their Bandwidth?  Just trying to wrap my head around it, or bash my head through it lol. I don't know.  All this virtual stuff is confusing sometimes.

This topic is for posting images of Linux Desktops not for discussing ways of uploading images and bandwidth usage, please stick to the topic, If you have questions about image hosting or or setting up a DE........... Start a new thread.

mralias518, nice! do you have those icons set to hop when clicked on, is that an option, or is that just Mac.  I saw a Desktop wallpaper yesterday that said "Better Than Mac" lol

I assume that is the cario dock... never played that well with the graphics cards I had on my desktop. Though I haven't tried it since switching back to a Nvidia card. It is a nice dock though, assuming you get it to work without any issues.

Yes it is mint 17.1. The dock thing is called "Docky" which gives you the task bar and ability to format as you wish. I bet cumbersome to use though. Just love the looks.

Nope it's called "Docky" and is used in combination with MBuntu-Y-For Gnome-Fallback on the Windows borders, Icons are Numix-Circle, Controls are Mbuntu-Y-For-Gnome=Fallback, mouse pointer is DMZ-White and Desktop is Leopard. 

Looks great mralias.  Are the windows "aware" of the dock and conform to it (like in OSX), or do they just open over it, behind it etc. which I found annoying when I tried a dock app some time ago.

I guess yes...Docky will let you auto hide the bar so when the window opens the bar hides until the mouse is moved over the Docky bar. Hope that was somewhat clear and I answered your question.

Ahhh, yeah I believe I had tried that one as well. The docks never liked my system much.. haha.

Just a plain old Linux Mint 17.1 Desktop, with the wallpaper of the first Linux Mint install I ran, version 7 or Gloria.

The only mods are the applets added to the Panel for fast access, to the left, Skype for Linux, Firefox, Google Chrome & VMware Workstation Player. 

To the right, the Update Manager showing all is good, right beside of that is the tab where I can control system power (cpufreq), from Powersave to 3.40GHz Turbo Mode, with choices in between. I just choose 'Performance'. Next to that is ESET NOD32 for Linux, optional yet I like it, and the rest are the standard MATE tools. One can choose with the Date & Time their location & the current temperature will be shown. 

For those who wants cpufreq for power control, it's simple, copy/paste the code below in the Terminal & enter your password. By default, it runs at Ondemand at boot, I only change this when running a VM to Performance. 

sudo apt-get install indicator-cpufreq

I don't want a fancy desktop, preferring function over looks.
