Assemble the pc on a rubber mat or piece of cardboard and run for 30 minutes to an hour. See if it freezes.

That sounds like a lovely last resort as I'm not too keen on disassembling my entire computer quite yet.  It's been about two hours at least since I updated the BIOS and I haven't had a freeze yet.

It still freezes whenever the computer shuts down.

I've noticed some extra details though:  So when I first turn the computer back on, most of the normal lights turn on and fans start spinning, but there are three lights on my motherboard that kinda act like a POST beep.  From what I can see, a healthy restart for me has the following sequence, the red light comes on and quickly turns off.  Eventually this changes to the orange light.  This stays on for awhile, but eventually transitions to a white light.  During the white light is when my monitor finally turns on.  (my monitor not turning on seems to be my main problem).

I've noticed that when my computer freezes, the screen stays black and the white light never turns on.  Sometimes the orange light doesn't either (although I'm not sure about the orange light, it can turn on and off very fast sometimes.)  According to my motherboards manual, red indicates that it's detecting the CPU, orange indicates that it's detecting the ram, and finally white indicates that it's detecting the graphics card.

All my problems seem to stem from my motherboard failing to turn on my monitor.  When the computer fails to startup properly, my monitor simply says it cannot detect a signal as if the computer was never turned on in the first place.

Finally, I will say, I still can't get safe mode to work.  It's like my computer doesn't have one.  I press F11 at start up, it opens a list asking me weather to enter boot menu or settings(settings = bios).  When I select boot menu, I'm just launched directly into windows.

When you monitor displays that message, try hitting ther spacebar on you keyboard rapidly several times in a row.  Does that turn the monitor on ?
