Apple Support Communities (ASC) forums - access.

Banned from the forum? It says on the moderator / admin portal.

Each forum has an admin / moderator forum where actions done by mods are stored that can only be accessed by members of the moderation teams.

I’ve no idea what this thread is about any more. No one answers questions or else they use a link to answer a question, now we are being told to use a different forum, but not which one. There’s hardly a decent answer in the whole thread. Can anyone explain to me what it’s all about now? It was about Apple IDs now I’ve no idea what it’s about.

Our REAL Apple IDs still 'work' in the Apple Developer forums ........ even if the 'Hosts' withdraw posting privileges in the ASC forums.

As another chum said to me today, those moderators - 'Hosts' - on the ASC forums have a God mode; they can do whatever they want!

I think my answer, short though it was applied to all the questions you raised, and it certainly was an answer, whereas your answer to my question in #9 was a link, how was that an answer,

There is an "Edit" facility available for posts one makes on Bleeping Computer.
 

It's alongside the 'Quotes' buttons in posts which one has made personally. (Right of 'Report')

Except that you can only edit your own posts. Along with multiple other abilities - which I'm not going into! - we mods can edit anybody's posts apart from our own.

As for 'Apple IDs'; no idea. I lost interest in Cupertino's products and output a very long time ago, following an extremely frustrating session one day with a very balky Apple Lisa, back in the early 90s. Put me off Apple products for life. Never again...

I'm saddened to learn of your past poor experience - I've been pretty pleased with my Apple iMac experiences since 2009, when I bought a 24 inch model.
Although my current 27 inch iMac is just a joy, I also play around with my (replacement) 24 inc iMac which is running Linux Mint.

As an experienced computer guy, do you know anyone who might be able to answer this question?

This is now understood, which makes me think that it may well be a good idea to have a resident AV software running on one's Apple computer to 'catch' any possible malware which is downloaded from the iCloud and installed once again onto one's computer.
