I'm not familiar with Win10 or Win11, but my guess is that you must first SHARE your printer, in its host computer configuration options, before the printer is visible to the other computers.

Reference your Q2 in #6.

 

No need to worry about your older computer trying to install Win 10, MS have closed the free update path. If you were to decide to take it to Win 10 you would need to download the ISO and buy a licence.

I may be mistaken, but I believe that with the older HP Printers you do not connect (turn on) the printer during the driver installation process until after the drivers are finished installing.

 

BC, thanks for your post. I believe I've tried it every which way, but I'll give this a go and report back.
