Interesting, thanks!

I'm at my wit's end. I cannot even format the disks, any disk, in this PC. They are all readable in my other laptop but not this laptop and cannot be formated. The message says this dik cannot be formated. There has to be a fix.

For the computer in question please follow these instructions.  Don't bother putting those drives in this broken computer.

Speccy Specification Tutorial

I never bother trying to fix a computer without first checking if it has a bad Hard Drive or problematic software installed.  Therefore it is best to get some information before proceeding.

Please post the Exact Model Number of the computer and if you don't know we will show you how to get it.  Or you can Google how to find model number of your computer brand.

Please Download Speccy - Installer  Scroll down bottom left Speccy Free, Free Download.  Install it with the instructions you see there and use these instructions to run it.  What you are doing is copying a Link from the Speccy tool and pasting it in your next post.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

  1. In Speccy top left, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
  2. In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click; Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
  3. Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Note: The published profile will use the same language and temperature settings (Imperial or Metric) as your

Note: Each time you start Speccy, it will generate a new randomized URL. This is useful if you want to track your computer's information over time.

MAKE SURE TO LET SPECCY FULLY LOAD BEFORE CREATING YOUR LINK BY WATCHING THE SPINNING ICON IN THE LOWER LEFT CORNER.

MiniToolBox Tutorial

Please Download MiniToolBox and follow the directions below:

Click on the MiniToolBox Program to start it and accept the Commercial Agreement clause.

Click on "Yes" when the "User Account Control" opens

Check these boxes and Click "Go":

List last 10 Event Viewer Errors

List Installed Programs

List Devices

List Users, Partitions and Memory size

There will be a Text file in the same directory you downloaded the tool to.  Open it and Copy Paste the Contents to your next post.  Or choose "More Reply Options" at bottom right of your next post and "Attach File" "Choose File" to attach the .txt document.  Please be patient as most of us do this for free in our spare time.

Thank you, HTH. Doing my best to follow your instructions,

the model of my laptop is a Dell Precision 5560

Speccy URL is: https://speccy.piriform.com/results/uD4maFtb0We3zscfiF2kqpm

MiniToolBox text file is attached

I hope I did this correct. The MTB instructions weren't exactly how it loaded, but nonetheless, it generated the MTB Text. Let me know what else I can/need to do. Thank you
