The new Headphones arrived and have performed faultlessly for just short of a week.

Then my PC stopped recognising that they were plugged in - Similarly to the other set.

I've tried all Windows 10's offered solutions and, sometimes it starts recognising them, as it did with the others.

My current guess is that it's the socket that is developing a fault.

I've tried taking the plug in and out several times - No luck

Any other ideas will be welcomed

Just ordered an USB Socket.

If the same fault occurs with it, I shall follow your advice CD and download the Mini-toolbox

Perhaps your wife is not happy about the headphones because she wants to hear what you are doing and sabotages it.  ... or the dog.

I wear them so I will not disturb others, when I listen to music and occasionally, movies.

Hello,

It's interesting to hear about the peculiar issue with your PC's audio on Facebook. Since the issue seems intermittent, a few troubleshooting steps might help identify the cause. First, check for any recent updates to your browser or Facebook app, as software updates can sometimes impact audio functionality. Additionally, ensure that your browser settings allow audio playback and that there are no conflicting extensions.

If the issue persists, you might want to check your PC's audio settings. Ensure that your speakers are set as the default playback device and that the audio jack is securely connected. Testing the speakers on other platforms or applications can help determine if the problem is specific to Facebook.

Lastly, considering the intermittent nature of the problem, keep an eye on any patterns or correlations with other software or activities during the periods when the audio isn't working.

If the issue persists, seeking assistance from technical support forums related to your specific PC and browser setup could provide more tailored solutions.

Best regards,
Hassan Izhar
