Will these few desktop computer internal hardware components make a good build?

RTX 3050 is a basic card, but it will do the job since it not used for any intensive graphics programs or gaming.

(although it does play  games perfectly fine at 1080p)

 

It will be perfectly OK for your Father's desktop without any issues. And make a fine  display card. 

 

As for monitors, there is to get a 4K display for that new desktop - maybe a nice 34 inch 4K  (maybe a VA since it has the best contrast and black colors) to watch those TV shows, and have a large screen for those programs?

 

edit: also you  just get a 4K TV and hook it up with HDMI; if it is a better deal and more cost effective.

A few years ago, on my dad's desktop computer, he replaced an old 24-inch 1920 x 1080 DELL monitor with many USB ports with a new 27-inch 3840 x 2160 DELL monitor.

 

However, because he did NOT check the new 27-inch 3840 x 2160 DELL monitor's specifications before buying it, he was disappointed when he discovered that it only had a few USB ports.

 

As such, he returned the new 27-inch 3840 x 2160 DELL monitor and bought another 27-inch 2560 x 1440 DELL monitor with many USB ports, so he will likely NOT replace it again.

 

Additionally, now that my dad got used to the DELL laptop's 3840 x 2160 screen resolution and its higher pixel density, he prefers streaming television shows on that laptop computer.

 

We have a 42-inch Panasonic 1920 x 1080 plasma TV and a 43-inch NU7455 Samsung 3840 x 2160 Smart 4K UHD TV | UE43NU7455UXXC, but they are both too far away from my dad's computers.

 

By the phrase "too far away," I mean that they are placed in the dining room on the first floor and the above television room on the second floor, respectively, and they both have an Ethernet plug.

 

There are several meters between my dad's office and the dining room, and installing any cable connections between the two rooms is inconvenient, so we will likely NOT try to do that.

My dad purchased a Kingston NV2 NVMe M.2 2TB PCIe 4.0, 3500/2800MB/s SNV2S/2000G, and I would like to ask you for your opinion on it.

for that Kingston SNV2S/2000G.

 

So it may cause compatibility issues with that ASUS motherboard. And it may not either. But it is a risk that is being taken.

 

That Kingston isn't the fastest  for that type of SSD nor is it the cheapest. There are better and more suited for that ASUS board.

The QVL's are not all inclusive as they can't test every piece of hardware in existence.

The only 2 SSD's I have seen fail were both Kingston. I personally avoid them.

That's a good card.

And better than that older card or that 3050. It game nicely and does Adobe Photoshop/Premier nicely and makes an excellent display card.

It is also excellent that the MSI GeForce RTX 3060 GAMING X 12G GPU has RGB lighting because I have read elsewhere that, for example, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GPU does NOT.

As such, my dad made the right choice when he purchased the MSI GPU because his previous 10-year-old Windows 10 laptop computer was also an MSI, so he knows that it is a reputable and durable brand.
 
My dad will now get an exciting RGB lighting show inside his newly built desktop computer because it has the front and left sides in tempered glass, and the following hardware components have RGB lighting:

My dad has a digitally activated Microsoft Windows 10 Professional 64-bit retail user license being linked to his Microsoft user account.
 
He purchased the user license from an online computer store for his previous Windows 10 desktop computer build and eventually upgraded it for free to Windows 11.
 
He could do this because Windows 11 officially supports his earlier ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X HERO motherboard and the former Intel® Core i7-8700 CPU.
 
As such, I would like to ask you if and how he could transfer it to his new desktop computer build with Windows 11.
