Any recommendations for firewall that blocks outgoing applications & port access

That's a third party add-on for the native Firewall? Have you used it?

 

I have personally used it, its a basic firewall where youre asked to accept outgoing and/or incoming connections, thats it, no bells and whistles.

However, as it happens, I have not used any of these Firewalls myself.

I use Windows 10 Defender Firewall in conjunction with Emsisoft Anti-Malware and their Windows Firewall Fortification Feature.

Thanks. I tried it moments ago and interfered with my advanced security settings of Firefox. I uninstalled this firewall and I couldn't connect to the internet using Firefox. I had to reset my Windows Fireall and security policies to default to regain internet access for FF.

Emsisoft actualy removed firewall features from EAM...it's only protection against changes of System FW so it's rather behavioral monitor role.

AGREE 100% best solution out there these days  i use the pay versionmost the time , but free version is not bad depending on your needs

Thanks for the suggestions. However, Spyshelter doesn't seem to have any images of the GUI. That's something I'm surprised they don't offer considering they also have a paid version too. I assume they're hoping people just blindly download and install?

McAfee Firewall is a better alternative compared to Comodo and PF. It has enhanced traffic-filtering performance and proactive protection in real-time, plus it's great at detecting malicious URLs.

I think back in the day, the Unbloated version of ZoneAlarm (not now) was the best Firewall around. After which, I found Private Firewall was the best for ease and functionality but it was buggy where it would block applications and there was no way to unblock them short of doing a clean install of Windows. However, their GUI was simple, effective, and powerful.  Nothing comes to close now, not even for Windows 10.

You can use Palo Alto or Fortinet which are the best firewalls in the industry and is also recommended by experts. I personally use FWaaS from Ace Public Cloud.
