I stand corrected that keeping software installer files in the downloads folder does NOT represent a security risk.
I was only referring to this particular software file in downloads folder. I am sure other files would not be a security risk.

Becareful of who you allow on your computer via remote means.
Very good advise. I only use it when my laptop has some technical issues and needs to be checked by a professional. The tech support person I consult is known to me for the last decade and a half, His workplace is quite far from my residence so connecting remotely is easier for him and it also costs me less. So far I've had my pc checked remotely by the same tech support twice or thrice .. once previously with software TeamViewers. I don't use these remote control softwares for any other purpose.
