A few points to note.

It would seem that you are getting updates just fine according to speccy.

On 18th Feb 2024 you got an Acer Firmware driver update. Probably from MS. If this is co-incident with the start of your problems then I'd start looking there.

Maybe roll back the driver update if you can or visit the Acer site and get the latest W10 drivers for your PC.

You also have a number of older updates flagged as in progress. This may be speccy getting stuff a bit wrong but worth looking in Settings>>Updates and Security to see if they really are still trying to upload. Is so then tell windows update to ignore them. (come back if unsure how to do that.)

Thanks Aldfort.  I checked Settings, Security and went scrolled down all updates.  They are all marked as having been uploaded successfully.  If you meant something else, I let me know. Since I've uninstalled Nord VPN  I will re-run Specky and post that in my next reply.

I've actually visited Cardiff - Cathays, many years ago.

OK, I ran adwCleaner.  I think I followed it through though I didn't see anything that looked like the "last step"

Along the way it asked me to Quarantine AcerCareCenter, AcerJumpstart and AcerUpdater as they were preinstalled software that was undesirable.  I did that.

Here's the post scan log:

So after Cleaning it says do this or skip this.  Did you skip the last step or did you follow through with the last step and reboot ?

If you did not see it it maybe because it wanted you to reboot for the Quarantine which should have done the Network Reset.

Though can run it again so know what you are looking for.

So ya, can uninstall or may need Geek or Revo Uninstaller to help uninstall the rest of the Acer Programs,

OK, I ran adw.cleaner again and it pointed out the same three Acer programs it wanted quarantined again.  I don't think that's an issue and I approved it again.  At the end it said scan complete, no prompting to restart or anything like that.  Just Scan Complete, 11 items found.  I expect the log would read pretty much the same as the last one did.

OK, so I've had a bit of a turn of fortune.  I dug out an old USB splitter to see if it might have a bit of an extension cord on it so I could sit it closer to my keyboard.  It doesn't but I put the keyboard dongle in it anyway and simply pointed it toward the keyboard, 3' away.  (photo attached).   It seems to have cleared up the keystroke lag for the time being.  As it's an issue that comes and goes, we'll see.

Also, some of you seem to be indicating that I may lack ram at 8gb.  I wouldn't know.  Or, perhaps my ram is not working optimally.  I scan a lot of items and documents for eBay sales and previously when I scanned a full page at 400 dpi the scan would complete but the software could take up to 30 or 40 seconds for the green progress bar to indicate the file had been saved.  The last few times I used the scanner today it was almost instantaneous.  SNAP!  The file was created so, all this fiddling may be making some progress.

Know anyone re ebay re wholesale off BC Magazine ?

Ok well no idea of make/and model of the Logi mouse.  Please supply the model #  if a Logi Combo will be on the keyboard and mouse bottom.

Some Logi mice and keyboards had Firmware Update for the USB Receiver.  Regardless there is Logi software to be had.

Note your running : Logitech USB Input Device   Driver   Date:  6-21-2006        The receiver should be line of sight for the mouse/keyboard for optimal performance.

You mention 3 files 2 x's now but have now added 11 others.  Please upload the log as a text file.

I don't know anybody dealing with BC Magazine if that's what your asking.  I'm not perfectly clear what you wanted.  Never heard of it actually.

I'm using a wired mouse.  Logitech trackball that I just love.  It's over 20 years old and New Old Stock are in the hundreds of dollars.  Only the keyboard is wireless.  Logitech K350.

3 files it wanted quarantined.  11 files "dealt with" and scan was completed.

I just ran a scan and it came back with No items found so I clicked on the scan log for the one I did a number of hours ago.  Here it is:

It sounds like you might have a handle on your problem.

I use a Logitech Keyboard / mouse combo via a unifying receiver. Range is about 3 feet at best. You don't need line of sight exactly but metal will block the signal, wood, not so much.

So ya, having the Receiver as close as possible is or better yet in view or if have front panel USB slots (and Firewire usually) is the best place for no lag or stutter.

There are USB Hubs/USB Mini Hubs which can make that even longer and more useful.

Note : M/B manual will tell you which Ports are fastest.

Would need to google your Trackball to see if using a faster Port will make any difference.

OK Firstly, I'm including the scan log every time because I thought some of the stats might change for each scan.  I'll quit.

My mouse is wired, I have no problem with my mouse.  It's a logitech Marble Mouse T-BC21.  I haven't had keyboard lag since I put that USB splitter inline.  It's in a front USB 3 port.

For the moment I don't have any great issues though this morning opening eBay and doing a search caused a very long lag before the page posted all the graphics.  The item descriptions and empty box frames for graphics appeared but the graphics didn't load and the page scrolled in a very jerky manner, sometimes going white blank.  Sound like RAM issues?

Ok,   and yes that sounds like low ram + low graphics (GPU) ram.
